The Forest Sauna. A Sustainable Design Retreat in the Heart of the Dolomites

The new forest sauna by the Olympic Hotel — an innovative architectural project designed to make you fall in love again and again with yourself and with nature, in every season of the year.

Where architecture, nature and wellbeing meet in perfect harmony.

The Olympic Hotel, a four-star adults-only wellness retreat in the heart of Val di Fassa, keeps reinventing itself surprising guests with new, sustainable ways to experience nature.
Just in time for the festive season, the hotel unveils its latest creation: the Forest Sauna, an architectural masterpiece that captures the pure essence of Trentino’s alpine nature in a visionary and innovative way.

Designed by NOA Network of Architecture, led by Lukas Rungger and Stefan Rier, this striking structure rises on wooden stilts a suspended sanctuary reaching out toward the quiet of the forest.

Protected by the majestic Dolomites that stand behind it, the Forest Sauna blends seamlessly into the landscape. Its dark, earthy tones mirror the soil and rocks, while large glass panels open onto the forest’s ever-changing palette  from the snow-white winters to the vivid greens of summer.

Your Private Paradise in Val di Fassa

Imagine spending time with your loved one, suspended in silence, surrounded by forest and mountain air.
The Forest Sauna at the Olympic Hotel is more than a place to unwind it’s a multisensory experience, where architecture, art and wellness merge into one flow of heat, scent and serenity.

Through the wide panoramic windows, nature becomes part of the design. The mountains frame every breath, inviting you to slow down, reconnect and simply be.

And just outside, an exclusive panoramic terrace with a whirlpool tub, crafted from natural materials, offers the ultimate immersion a 360° embrace of forest and silence.

Where Beauty Meets Intimacy and Sharing

The sauna culture has always been both social and deeply personal.
In the Forest Sauna of the Olympic Hotel, you can live both experiences: an intimate retreat for reflection or a shared moment of regeneration.

Let yourself be enveloped by the warm contrast of dark interiors and snowy landscapes, or experience the magic of the Aufguss ritual, guided by a skilled sauna master.

The Aufguss literally “steam infusion” is an ancient wellness ritual where snow or ice infused with essential oils is placed onto glowing stones. As steam rises, the master circulates the hot air through rhythmic towel movements, blending fragrance, warmth and sound into a hypnotic, therapeutic dance.

It’s a ritual of purification, balance and transformation a unique experience to try at least once in a lifetime.

A Vision of Sustainable Wellness

The new Forest Sauna of the Olympic Hotel is a symbol of the future a dialogue between design, sustainability and alpine wellbeing.
An architectural ode to nature that invites guests to rediscover themselves and fall in love again with the forest, with silence, with life itself.
