Through the Val di Fassa: Explore this beautiful valley with a true insider

Trekking through Val di Fassa and the Dolomite

He knows the Val di Fassa like the back of his hands, is full of anecdotes about South Tyrol and its inhabitants and he really feels at home in the Dolomites.

We are of course talking about Paolo Pellegrin, your host at the Hotel Olympic.

A hike with him is sure to get you off the beaten paths and is an experience you will never forget… Amazing adventures await!

Paolo was born and raised in the hospitality business; it was only later in life that he discovered his passion for mountaineering and the freedom that comes from exploring the mountains…

But read for yourselves:„I was 9 years old when my parents opened a small Bed and Breakfast in 1942. My mother took care of the rooms and cooked breakfast, while my father went on mountain hikes with our guests.

My sister and I – I’m the first of five children – helped out where we could. That little B&B is now the Hotel Olympic.? As I grew older, I discovered my passion for the culinary world and one day decided to turn my passion into a career – that’s how I became a chef. Then, in 2012, I wanted to move my workplace to the great outdoors. I am now a cross-country ski and nordic walking instructor, a bike guide and I’m also responsible for the activity programme for our hotel guests. I take them out on exciting hikes, bike tours and culinary excursions a couple of times a week. There’s all sorts of activities: from easy relaxing walks with breakfast or a small meal on our mountain hut in Fuciade, to more challenging tours in the high alpine terrain. For both me and our guests: The most beautiful places are found off the beaten paths!”

Quote

„My uncle Paolo works tirelessly, is extremely helpful and has a very big heart. He’s our rock and always steers us in the right direction. His mere presence makes me feel safe. One thing is for sure: He means the world to me.“

Rosa (Paolo’s niece)
